Fellows Manufacturing has relaunched its commercial kitchen sink bowl manufacturing operations

Fabrication stalwart Fellows Manufacturing has relaunched its commercial kitchen sink bowl manufacturing operations to meet the contemporary needs of the catering equipment sector.

The move comes as the business continues to be a core part of parent firm Rical Group’s activities as it prepares to celebrate 200 years of manufacturing history.

The group’s oldest division dates back to 1825 while Fellows has been a cornerstone of commercial catering equipment production since its inception in the 19th century.

Founded around 1860, it formally established itself as S J & E Fellows in 1895, marking the beginning of a legacy that would span generations.

From the 1920s onwards, the company became increasingly involved in producing metal products for the catering industry, solidifying its position as a key player in this field.

One of Fellows’ notable achievements was becoming one of the original UK manufacturers of bain-marie containers in the late 1960s, starting with the UK Imperial range.

Over the years it has manufactured thousands of stainless steel sinks and associated products for commercial kitchens.

As part of its ongoing commitment to innovation and meeting market demands, Fellows recently relaunched its sink bowl manufacturing operations.

Sales director, Andy Essom, said this “strategic move” not only pays homage to the company’s rich heritage but demonstrates its ability to adapt to contemporary needs in the catering equipment sector.

“The relaunch of sink bowl manufacture is particularly significant given Fellows’ renowned expertise in deep drawing capabilities, especially in stainless steel,” he explained.

“This specialisation positions the company uniquely to produce high-quality, durable sink bowls that meet the exacting standards of modern commercial kitchens.”

Fellows was acquired by Rical Group back in 1998 and retains the full commitment of its parent company today, insisted Mr Essom.

“This partnership has allowed Fellows to maintain its traditional values while benefiting from the resources and support of a larger organisation.

“Fellows Manufacturing’s 200-year journey is a testament to British manufacturing resilience and innovation. The relaunch of the sink bowl manufacture not only celebrates this rich history but also signals a continued commitment to serving the catering industry with top-quality equipment.

“As Fellows moves forward, it carries with it two centuries of expertise, ready to meet the challenges and opportunities of the modern catering world.
